Kadhal Mannan
''Kaadhal Mannan'' () is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Saran. The film stars Ajith Kumar and newcomer Maanu in the lead roles. It also saw veteran music composer M. S. Viswanathan make his debut in a supporting role, whilst Vivek, Karan and Girish Karnad also played other roles. ''Kaadhal Mannan'' released on 6 March 1998 and became a commercial success. Plot Rudran, a strict disciplinarian and father of two daughters, hates the word 'Love'. Saran (director)
K. V. Saravanan, better known as Saran, is an Indian film director and screenwriter who active mainly in Tamil cinema. He was once an assistant to K. Balachander. He owns production house called ''Gemini Productions.'' Early life Saran's father T. Kulandaivelayudam worked with the directorate of examinations and many of his relatives are teachers. He finished diploma in visual communications from the College of Arts And Crafts and became an instructor in textile designing. Saran worked as instructor for a year and, during this time, he did some work with a lady called Mohana who was art director for K. Balachander. KB was the director whom Saran admired above all others. Saran hoped this relationship would be the key to get to him. The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) is an Indian organisation consisting of technicians from the Tamil film industry in Tamil Nadu, India. A total of 23 unions belonging to different trades in the film and television industry are affiliated to the FEFSI that has around 25,000 members. Strikes June 1997 In June 1997, some members of the FEFSI resorted to a flash strike during the shooting of the film '' Raman Abdullah'', directed by Balu Mahendra, protesting against the director engaging "outsiders".
