Phyllis Kaberry
Phyllis Mary Kaberry (17 September 1910 – 31 October 1977) was a social anthropologist who dedicated her work to the study of women in various societies. Particularly with her work in both Australia and Africa, she paved the way for a feminist approach in anthropological studies. Her research on the sacred life and significant role of women in Australian Aboriginal culture proved to be a controversial topic, as anthropology during her years of early fieldwork was male-dominated, filled with the misconceptions that men were the superior in any aspect of life. Contributing proof of women's significance to societal development and organisation, Kaberry was an influential and significant anthropologist. Anthony Kaberry (born 5 April 1971) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s. Background Kaberry played his junior rugby league at Matraville Tigers. Playing career Kaberry started his career at the South Sydney Rabbitohs, his local club, in the 1992 NSWRL season. He made his debut in the front row against the Parramatta Eels as his Rabbitohs lost 26–20. He later played three more games that year for Souths, all from the interchange. Two seasons later, he played another 12 matches for South Sydney, either in the second row or off the bench. Donald Kaberry, Baron Kaberry Of Adel
Donald Kaberry, Baron Kaberry of Adel, MC, TD (18 August 1907 – 13 March 1991), known as Sir Donald Kaberry, 1st Baronet, from 1960 to 1983, was a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for 33 years and was later a life peer. In 1990, he was injured in the Carlton Club bombing by the Provisional Irish Republican Army, leading to his death the following year. Biography Donald Kaberry was the son of Abraham Kaberry. He was educated at Leeds Grammar School and became a solicitor (a partner in Ford and Warren, Leeds) and company director, becoming chairman of W.H. Baxter Ltd and E. Walker & Co Ltd. He served as a councillor on Leeds City Council 1930–50, except for his period of army service during World War II. He was eventually made an honorary Alderman of the City Council. Lewis Kaberry
Kaberry and Chard was an Australian architectural firm known for designing theatres, picture theatres and town halls from around 1920 until the end of 1939. It was based in Sydney, New South Wales, and designed many theatres in every state of Australia, as well as commercial buildings. The firm's partner's were Lewis Kaberry (1879–1962) and Clifford Chard (born 1884). The firm Kaberry and Chard was founded by architects Lewis Kaberry and Clifford M. Chard in 1920. Based in Sydney, Kaberry and Chard grew to be a large general practice, designing buildings of all kinds, but were known especially for their design of theatres. They designed over 57 theatres around Australia. In July 1936, Chard visited Maryborough, Queensland, to discuss proposed alterations to the Bungalow Theatre there.
