Professional Wrestling In Japan
Professional wrestling in Japan has existed for several decades. The first Japanese person to involve themselves in catch wrestling (the basis of traditional professional wrestling) was former sumo wrestler Sorakichi Matsuda. There were subsequent attempts before and after World War II to popularize the sport in Japan, but these generally failed until the advent of its first big star, Rikidōzan, in 1951, who became known as the "father" of the sport. Rikidōzan brought the sport to tremendous popularity with his Japanese Wrestling Association (JWA) until his murder in 1963. was a Japanese mixed martial artist and professional wrestler, also known under the ring name . Kimura was known for his work in promotions like Dramatic Dream Team, W*ING, Fighting World of Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling, among others. He was also involved in MMA, facing Rickson Gracie at the second event of Vale Tudo Japan and being the founder of the female MMA brands AX and G-Shooto. Kyohei Mikami
, known by his stage name Mikami (stylized as MIKAMI), is a Japanese professional wrestler. He is best known for his work for Dramatic Dream Team both as a singles wrestler and with Thanomsak Toba in a tag team called Suicide Boyz. Career Coming from a background in gymnastics and Greco-Roman wrestling, Mikami started training professional wrestling in Universal Lucha Libre in 1993. After passing another tentative year in Michinoku Pro Wrestling, he eventually joined Pro Wrestling Crusaders, where he served as a referee before debuting in 1996 against Nosawa Rongai. Starman (16 November 1974 – 23 September 2022) was a Mexican professional wrestler who was active as a '' tecnico'' in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) from 1996. Starman's real name was not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. , better known by his ring names Nosawa and , is a Japanese retired professional wrestler, best known for his appearances in All Japan Pro Wrestling and various independent promotions. was a professional wrestling event promoted by CyberFight's DDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT). It took place on March 20, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, at the Korakuen Hall.
