KNK (band)
KNK (; lit. "great" or "to be great") is a South Korean boy band formed in 2016. They released their debut single album ''Knock'' on March 3, 2016. The group currently consists of four members, Inseong, Jihun, Dongwon and Hyunjong. History Pre-debut All five members of KNK were trainees of different companies before joining YNB Entertainment. They had a long training period, with an average of five years. As trainees, the members appeared in music videos of their label mate, Bestie. They also performed as backup dancers for the girl group. On December 15, 2015, a teaser video of the boys was uploaded on KNK's official YouTube channel. The following day, it was revealed that the group would perform at 2015 SBS Awards Festival (SAF) alongside Noel, Bestie and Almeng. Kim Kwang-seok
Kim Kwang-seok (; ; January 22, 1964 – January 6, 1996) was a popular and influential South Korean folk rock singer. He debuted in 1987 as a member of Noraereul Channeun Saramdeul, an activist folk band. He achieved widespread popularity as a member of the folk band Dongmulwon, which debuted in 1988. The following year, in 1989, he released his first solo album. His songs were popular for their sentimental lyrics that critics said "portrayed individuals' sorrow and frustration at a time when the society was struggling in its early stage of democracy following rapid industrialization." ''Awake'' is the first extended play (EP) by South Korean boy group KNK. It contains six songs and two instrumental tracks, including the lead single, "Back Again". All tracks from the EP was personally written, composed and arranged by Kim Tae-joo who also produced hit songs like Beast's " Good Luck", " 12:30" and more. Background and release On May 16, 2016, KNK released their first digital single "I Remember", a medium tempo R&B track. A week later, YNB Entertainment announced the comeback of the group with their first EP titled ''Awake'' through KNK's official SNS. Highlight (), formerly known as Beast (), is a South Korean boy band formed by Cube Entertainment. The band consists of four members: Yoon Doo-joon, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang, and Son Dong-woon.
