The Juno Awards, more popularly known as the JUNOS, are awards presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. New members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame are also inducted as part of the awards ceremonies. The Juno Awards are often referred to as the Canadian equivalent of the Brit Awards in the United Kingdom or the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The Juno Awards of 1978, representing Canadian music industry achievements of the previous year, were awarded on 29 March 1978 in Toronto at a ceremony hosted for a second consecutive year by David Steinberg at the Harbour Castle Hilton Convention Centre. A 2-hour broadcast of the ceremonies was available nationally on CBC Television. 1500 people were present at the ceremonies. Moxy is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band, formed in Toronto, Ontario, in early 1974. They toured Canada before having a hit in late 1975 with "Can't You See I'm A Star". Moxy then toured the United States on the strength of their radio airplay. Markets in which the band was very popular included Ontario, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and San Antonio. Maneige
Maneige was a Canadian progressive rock and fusion jazz band from Quebec. The instrumental ensemble was one of the Quebec progressive rock scene's longest-running bands, performing regularly for several decades. History Maneige was founded in 1972 by Alain Bergeron and Jérôme Langlois. Bergeron played flute and saxophone, while Langlois was a keyboardist. They were joined by the drummer Gilles Schetagne, percussionist Paul Picard and bassist Yves Leonard, to form the initial quintet. Heart is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Seattle, Washington, as The Army. Two years later they changed their name to Hocus Pocus. The year following they changed their name to White Heart, and eventually changed the name a final time to Heart, in 1973.
