John Brogan (footballer Born 1958)
John Brogan (born 18 May 1958, in Glasgow), is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a defender. Brogan began his career with Partick Thistle. He didn't play for the first team, and moved to rivals Clyde. He stayed with Clyde for 7 seasons, before dropping out of the senior game to join Glasgow Perthshire. He is regularly a guest of honour at various Clyde functions. Scottish Second Division
The Scottish Football League Second Division was the third tier of the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The Second Division was created in 1975, as part of a wider reconstruction of the Scottish Football League (SFL). Prior to 1975, the SFL had been split into two divisions (Division One and Division Two). The effect of the reconstruction was to split these two divisions into three, with the top flight named the Premier Division, second tier the First Division, and a new third tier was created known as the Second Division. A fourth tier, known as the Third Division, was created in 1994. In 1998, the Premier Division clubs broke away from the SFL to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL). The Second Division continued as before, but it was now the second level of the SFL. In 2013, the SFL and SPL merged to form the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Glasgow Perthshire Football Club is a Scottish football club based in Possilpark, in the north of Glasgow. History The Glasgow Perthshire Athletic Club, within which the football club operated, was formed on 7 November 1890 at the Waterloo Rooms in Glasgow, by members of the Glasgow Perthshire Society. Senior football The club joined the Scottish Football Association in August 1892, and entered the preliminary rounds for the 1892–93 Scottish Cup. It was drawn at home to Wishaw Thistle in its first tie. The club got off to a bad start, Milligan heading through his own goal, although when 3–0 down Lamb pulled a goal back with a cross-shot. However, by half-time, the visitors were 6–2 up, and the Shire collapsed in the second half, the club going down 17–2.
