James McCarthy (Gaelic Footballer)
James McCarthy (born 1 March 1990) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Ballymun Kickhams club and for the Dublin county team. Early life He was a student at Sacred Heart BNS Ballygall and St Kevin's College in Ballygall. DCU Career He attended DCU where he was a defender for the Gaelic football team. In 2012, he won the Sigerson Cup and the O'Byrne Cup with the college. Ballymun Career He has won two Dublin Senior Football Championships in 2012 and 2020 with Ballymun. He added a Leinster Senior Club Football Championship to his collection in 2012. The went on to beat Dr. Crokes in the All-Ireland semi-final before losing the 2013 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Final to St Brigid's GAA (Roscommon). St Brigid's GAA (Roscommon)
St Brigid's GAA Club (''Naomh Bríd'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parishes of Kiltoom and Cam in South County Roscommon, Ireland. They play in green and red colours and their home pitch is at Newpark, Kiltoom. The club was founded in 1944 and is the home club of former Roscommon inter-county player Gerry O'Malley. The club has won one All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, beating Ballymun Kickhams in the All-Ireland Club Final on St Patrick's Day, 17 March 2013. John McCarthy (Gaelic Footballer)
John McCarthy (born 1955) is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Dublin county team, who making his championship debut in a defeat by Louth in a Leinster SFC Replay in 1973. However this would be his team's last defeat in the province until 1980. He was once described by former Donegal manager Brian McEniff as the most lethal of the six Dublin forwards. Playing career Inter-county In the period 1974 to 1979, McCarthy won three All Ireland medals in 1974, 1976 and 1977. McCarthy was a crucial figure in these years particularly in the 1976 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final against old rivals Kerry as McCarthy struck for the first goal to set Dublin on their way to victory.
