The 1st constituency of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County () is one of the first-past-the-post voting, single member List of Hungarian constituencies, constituencies of the National Assembly (Hungary), National Assembly, the national legislature of Hungary. The constituency standard abbreviation: ''Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok 01. OEVK''. Since 2018, it has been represented by Mária Kállai of the Fidesz–KDNP party alliance. Boundaries The 1st constituency is located in western part of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. Szolnok
Szolnok (; also known by #Name and etymology, alternative names) is the county seat of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county in central Hungary. A city with county rights, it is located on the banks of the Tisza river, in the heart of the Great Hungarian Plain, which has made it an important cultural and economic crossroads for centuries. Szolnok also has one of Hungary’s best water polo teams. Name and etymology Szolnok was named after the first steward of the city, Szolnok (ispán), Szaunik or Zounok. The town was first officially mentioned under the name Zounok in 1075. In the following centuries, it was recorded variously as Zounok, Saunic, Zounuc, and Zawnuch. The variety of spellings likely comes from phonetic discrepancies occurring when Hungarian sounds were recorded using the Latin alphabet. Szászberek
Szászberek is a community located in Szolnok District, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, Hungary. Location Szászberek is located in the western part of Hungary, on the edge near Jászság, on the left bank of the Zagyva, 17 kilometers north of the county seat, Szolnok. The immediate neighboring municipalities are: Jászalsószentgyörgy in the north, Jászladány in the northeast, Besenyszög in the east, Zagyvarékas in the south, Újszász in the southwest, and Jászboldogháza in the northwest. History The first mention of Szászberek dates back to 1435. At that time, the name of the village was ''Zazberegh''. In the 15th century, the settlement gained the status of a market town, but later lost it because it was depopulated by the Ottoman-Tatar conquests and devastation in the 17th century. Nagykörű
Nagykörű is a village in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary. Location The village is located on the right bank of River Tisza, 25 kilometres away to the northeast from Szolnok. It can be approached on road by scheduled overland bus from the west, by ferry from the direction of Fegyvernek (from the east), or by bicycle on Tisza-dam. History Nagykörű got its name because it was almost completely compassed by Tisza before the river control. The settlement was rising as an isle among the neighboring river meadows. The first written document of Nagykörű monastery derives from year 1212. The village itself was founded at the beginning of the 14th century, and it belonged to the property of Ban Lothar of Gutkeled.
