Judo At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's 70 Kg
The women's 70 kg competition in Judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics, judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held on 10 August at the Carioca Arena 2. The gold and silver medals were determined by a single-elimination tournament, with the winner of the final taking gold and the loser receiving silver. Judo events awarded two bronze medals. Quarterfinal losers competed in a repechage match for the right to face a semifinal loser for a bronze medal (that is, the judokas defeated in quarterfinals A and B competed against each other, with the winner of that match facing the semifinal loser from the other half of the bracket). The medals were presented by Sari Essayah, International Olympic Committee, IOC member from Finland, and the gifts were presented by Lassana Paleinfo, vice president of the International Judo Federation. Carioca Arena 2
Carioca Arena 2 (Portuguese: ''Arena Carioca 2'') is a technical education institution and indoor stadium in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The venue hosted judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics, judo and wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics as well as boccia at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. As with a number of other venues in the Barra Olympic Park, Carioca Arena 2 was transformed after the games to become part of the Olympic Training Center (Rio de Janeiro), Olympic Training Centre. The arena has since been converted into a branch of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology. It serves 1400 students. Katarzyna Kłys (''née'' Piłocik, 23 April 1986) is a Polish judoka. She represented Poland in the 70 kg event of the 2008 Summer Olympics and lost in the quarter-finals to Ronda Rousey. Antónia Moreira
Antónia Moreira de Fátima (born 26 April 1982 in Luanda), nicknamed Faia, is an Angolan judoka. She competed in the +70 kg division at the 2004 Summer Olympics and lost in the round of 16 to Kim Ryon-Mi of North Korea. Moreira also won medals at the 2004 and 2005 African Judo Championships (gold in 2004, silver in 2005) as well as bronze medals at the 2007 All-Africa Games and the 2008 African Judo Championships and a gold medal at the 2015 African Games.
