Luzhniki Palace Of Sports
Luzhniki Palace of Sports, formerly the Palace of Sports of the Central Lenin Stadium, was a sports arena in Moscow, Russia, a part of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Built in 1956, it originally had a spectator capacity of 13,700. It was rebuilt in 2002, and eventually demolished in 2023, with plans to construct a replacement arena on the site. The arena was the host site of the world and European championships in ice hockey, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, boxing, skateboarding and other sports. Jean-Luc Rougé (born 30 May 1949, Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine) is a French judoka. He competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics and the 1980 Summer Olympics. Biography Fighting in the under 93 kg weight division, Rougé was the first French judoka to win gold medal at the World Judo Championships in 1975. He was elected president of the French Judo Federation in 2005, replacing Michel Vial. He was also a candidate for the 1993 French parliamentary elections under the banner of ''Rassemblement par le sport''. On 23 November 2013 Rougé was promoted to the rank of 9th dan, and on 13 December 2023 it was announced that he had been promoted to exclusive and exalted rank of 10th dan. Luiz Virgilio "Virgulino" Castro de Moura (Rio de Janeiro, August 23, 1952) is a retired Brazilian judoka. He was a seven time national champion and represented Brazil at the 1980 Summer Olympics and 1981 World Judo Championships. He is considered one of the most renowned Brazilian judokas in the 1980s. Biography A trainee under Georges Mehdi, Castro competed many years while served in Brazilian military. He amassed a number of championship wins both in and outside Brazil, winning seven times the national championship at the weigh categories of médio and meio-pessado. Eventually he was elected for the Brazilian Olympic team and represented the country at 1980 in Moscow, where he had a victory over Tsancho Atanasov and a loss to Jean-Luc Rougé. He would compete at the World Championships in Maastricht the next year, losing to the legendary Yasuhiro Yamashita.
