João Batista Viana Santos (born 20 July 1961 in Uberlândia, Brazil), or simply João Batista or Batista, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a defender. Uberlândia () is a city and municipality in the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil. It is the second largest city in the state of Minas Gerais after the state capital Belo Horizonte.
