Jordan Díaz (triple Jumper)
Jordan Alejandro Díaz Fortún (born 23 February 2001) is a Cuban-born Spanish triple jumper. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, he won a gold medal with a jump of 17.86 m. Career He won the gold medal at the 2017 World Youth Championships, the 2018 World U20 Championships, the 2018 NACAC Championships, the silver medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games and won the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in 2018. His personal best jump is 18.18 metres, achieved in June 2024. At the 2017 World Youth Championships he jumped 17.30 metres, a new championship record and world under-18 best mark, improving it further in 2018. On 28 June 2021, he defected from the Cuban delegation sent to a preparatory competition in Castellón, Spain. He thus missed the Tokyo Olympics. He began to train under Iván Pedroso in Guadalajara. The triple jump, sometimes referred to as the hop, step and jump or the hop, skip and jump, is a track and field event, similar to long jump. The 2017 IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics, IAAF World U18 Championships was the tenth and last edition of the biennial international Sport of athletics, athletics competition for Under-18 athletics, youth (under-18) athletes. The five-day competition took place between 12 and 16 July at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Eligible athletes were aged 16 or 17 on 31 December 2017 (born in 2000 or 2001).
