''Join, or Die'' is a 2003 compilation album by Amen. It was the first album published by the Refuse Music label and was limited to 2000 copies with the first 1000 copies hand numbered by Casey Chaos in his blood. The album features rare songs and b-sides The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company ..., and was sold during the band's 2003 tour of the United Kingdom. In 2006, the album was re-released in 2006 with a run of an additional 2000 copies with, just like before, the first 1000 numbered by Casey Chaos in his blood. Amen is an American punk/metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1994. The band was founded by frontman and singer Casey Chaos and combines elements of punk rock, hardcore, and heavy metal. Amen has released four studio albums, one live album, and the songs "Coma America", "The Price of Reality", and "California's Bleeding". The band saw continuous changes in membership, with Casey Chaos remaining the sole original member. History Formation and debut (1994) Amen was formed in 1994 in Los Angeles, California, after the disbanding of its frontman and singer Casey Chaos's previous band, Disorderly Conduct. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal. Alternative metal bands are often characterized by heavily downtuned, mid-paced guitar riffs, a mixture of accessible melodic vocals and harsh vocals and sometimes unconventional sounds within other heavy metal styles. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant hippie cultural climate of the time. Casey Chaos
Karim Chmielinski (born October 9, 1969), known professionally as Casey Chaos, is an American singer and songwriter. His music has encompassed a number of styles, including hardcore punk, death rock, and metal. He is the frontman of the metal band Amen. Early life Karim Chmielinski was born in New York. When he was seven, his parents separated and Casey, moved with his mother to Melbourne, Florida. By age 10 Casey, was touring professionally as a skater. Career 1984–1990: Disorderly Conduct In 1984, fellow skateboarder Duane Peters played him a tape by the band Black Flag. Ross Robinson (born February 13, 1967) is an American record producer who discovered acts such as Korn, Glassjaw, The Blood Brothers, Slipknot, and Limp Bizkit. Robinson has also worked with Tech N9ne, The Cure, Sepultura, and many others. Biography The son of Bob Robinson and inspirational speaker Byron Katie, Robinson began as a thrash metal guitarist for the bands Detente and Murdercar (featuring future Machine Head drummer Dave McClain) and picked up his knowledge of producing from the studios where his band recorded demos and also worked at Blackie Lawless's studio, Fort Apache, in Burbank, CA. ''Death Before Musick'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Amen. It was released in the United Kingdom on April 5, 2004, and in the United States on May 18, 2004, through eatURmusic and Columbia Records. The album continues the hardcore and punk genres of previous albums and draws on heavy metal as influence. Following this album, the band went on a lengthy hiatus and, as of April 2024, what marked the album’s 20th anniversary, the band have still not released their follow up album. The album spawned the hit single and promotional video for "California's Bleeding." Drummer Luke Johnson, who joined the band around the time of the album's release and tour, appeared with the band in the photo shoot in the album's booklet but did not play on the album.
