Johnny Canales
Juan José Canales (August 23, 1942 – June 12, 2024) was a Mexican Tejano singer and host of the television show "''The Johnny Canales Show''". Canales was credited with one of the first live performances of vocalist Selena by her 13th birthday. He took Selena y Los Dinos for their first concerts in Mexico. As a radio DJ in 1974, Canales gave Ruben Naranjo considerable airplay. Early life Juan José Canales was born in General Treviño on August 23, 1942. ''The Johnny Canales Show'' Johnny Canales was the executive producer for ''The Johnny Canales Show'' which debuted in 1983. His program showcased emerging bands from Mexico and the United States. General Treviño
General Treviño is a municipality in northern Mexico. General Treviño originated from a ranch named “El Puntiagudo” that was given to Don Juan Baptista Chapa on 14 January 1688. Don Francisco Chapa made the foundation in 1705. Its erection in the villa was verified on 9 December 1868, being Governor of the State Nuevo León, General Jerónimo Treviño; it belonged to the villas founded during the 19th century. The main reason for its foundation was agriculture. General Treviño is located northeast of the state of Nuevo León, in the region called “Gran Llanura de Norte America”, in the zone denominated “Fidenor”, located in the coordinates 26º28' of west longitude. Tejanos ( , ) are descendants of Texas Creoles and Mestizos who settled in Texas before its admission as an American state. The term is also sometimes applied to Texans of Mexican descent.
