John O'Reilly (baseball)
John O'Reilly (born October 4, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. Amateur career Raised in Northvale, New Jersey, O'Reilly played prep baseball at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan. O'Reilly played college baseball at Rutgers from 2015 to 2018. In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Professional career Pittsburgh Pirates On June 27, 2018, O'Reilly signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an undrafted free agent. He split his first professional season between the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Pirates and Bristol Pirates. O'Reilly split the 2019 campaign between the Single-A Greensboro Grasshoppers, High-A Bradenton Marauders, and Double-A Altoona Curve. In 30 relief appearances for the three affiliates, he accumulated a 1.46 ERA with 31 strikeouts and 5 saves across innings pitched. The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a Minor League Baseball team based in Greensboro, North Carolina. They are members of the South Atlantic League and are the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Salt Lake Bees are a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) team that plays in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The Rocket City Trash Pandas are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They are located in Madison, Alabama, and play their home games at Toyota Field. History In November 2017, BallCorps LLC purchased the Southern League's Mobile BayBears from owners Michael Savit and HWS Group for the purpose of relocating the team to Madison, Alabama, in 2020.
