John O'Gaunt Golf Club
John O'Gaunt Golf Club is a golf club, located two-and-a-half miles to the north-east of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, England, just north of the village of Sutton. It was established in 1948. The Club has two 18-hole courses; the original John O'Gaunt and the Carthagena which opened in 1980. Sutton, Bedfordshire
Sutton is a rural village and civil parish in the Central Bedfordshire district of Bedfordshire, England. It lies east of Bedford. At the 2001 Census, its population was 299. Main features are the packhorse bridge over the Potton Brook, the adjacent ford, and the Grade I listed All Saints' Parish Church. Geography Sutton is just over south of Potton, and north-east of Biggleswade. Landscape Natural England has designated the area as part of The Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Claylands (NCA 88). Central Bedfordshire Council has classified the local landscape as Dunton Clay Vale. Not technically a 'vale', it is used here to mean a transitional landscape between a valley and a plateau. Biggleswade
Biggleswade ( ) is a market town and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in Central Bedfordshire in Bedfordshire, England. It lies on the River Ivel, 11 miles (18 km) south-east of Bedford. Its population was 16,551 in the 2011 United Kingdom census, and its estimated population in mid-2019 had increased to 21,700, its growth encouraged by good road and rail links to London. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a major championship in women's professional golf. It is recognised by both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. The reigning champion is Ashleigh Buhai, who won in a playoff at Muirfield in 2022. Since becoming an LPGA major in 2001 it has generally been played in late July or early August.
