John O'Donnell (Irish Politician, Born 1866)
John O’Donnell (1866–1920) was an Irish journalist, Nationalist politician and Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom House of Commons from 1900 to 1910. He first became active in politics as an organiser for the United Irish League (UIL) in County Mayo during 1898–89 as a protégé of William O'Brien . When the Irish Parliamentary Party (IPP) MP Michael Davitt resigned his seat in protest against the Second Boer War, O′Donnell was elected as MP for South Mayo in a by-election held 27 February 1900. He was re-elected in the October 1900 general election, and represented a newer generation of nationalist politicians. He became national secretary of the UIL, and remained loyal to William O’Brien even after O’Brien's resignation from the IPP in 1903, trying to orchestrate his return to the party. John Redmond
John Edward Redmond (1 September 1856 – 6 March 1918) was an Irish nationalism, Irish nationalist politician, barrister, and Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. He was best known as leader of the moderate Irish Parliamentary Party (IPP) from 1900 until his death in 1918. He was also the leader of the paramilitary organisation the Irish National Volunteers (INV). He was born to an old prominent Catholic Church, Catholic family in rural Ireland; several relatives were politicians. He took over control of the minority IPP faction loyal to Charles Stewart Parnell when that leader died in 1891. Redmond was a conciliatory politician who achieved the two main objectives of his political life: party unity and, in September 1914, the passing of the Government of Ireland Act 1914. John Fitzgibbon (politician)
John Fitzgibbon (1845–1919) was an Irish politician. Fitzgibbon started his working life in his father's drapery business in Castlerea Seen as a spokesman for the tenant, Fitzgibbon exercised his powers of persuasion and oratory at meetings across Roscommon. His political life spanned 30 years, from the land war to the ranch war. He was also involved in the Gaelic League, the temperance movement and the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction (DATI). At the December 1910 election, he became MP for South Mayo. He served on the Castlerea board of guardians and was a member (later chairman, 1901), of Roscommon County Council.
