Jesús González Rubio (died April 26, 1874) was a professor of music in Guadalajara, Mexico Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a country in North America. It is the northernmost country in Latin America, and borders the United States to the north, and Guatemala and Belize to the southeast; while having maritime boundar ..., who is best known for having composed the Jarabe Tapatío, also known in the United States as the "Mexican Hat Dance". He established his own private school in Guadalajara for talented young musicians in the early 19th century, among them, Clemente Aguirre (1828-1900), who subsequently also became a noted music instructor and composer who influenced later musicians. Gonzalez-Rubio died on April 26, 1874, in Guadalajara. His remains were interred at the Templo de San Francisco de Asis. Jesus Ernesto Gonzales Jr (born October 3, 1984) is a Mexican-American former professional boxer. Gonzales was the NABF and IBF North American Super Middleweight Champion. Gonzales was considered by boxing critics to be one of the top amateur medal contenders for the United States in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Amateur career Gonzales' decorated amateur career includes wins over 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist and later WBA World Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward; WBO Light Middleweight Champion Alfredo Angulo; IBA Intercontinental Light Middleweight champion Sechew Powell; and an astonishing four wins over former WBC Welterweight Champion Andre Berto. 1992 IAAF World Road Relay Championships
The 1992 IAAF World Road Relay Championships was the first edition of the global, international marathon relay competition, organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It marked the formal establishment of an ekiden as a world championship event, following on from the non-championship 1986 IAAF World Challenge Road Relay. The event took place on 9–10 May in Funchal, Portugal with the participation of 138 athletes (90 men and 48 women) from 16 nations. The women's race took place on Saturday 9 May and the men's race took place on Sunday 10 April. Each national team consisted of six athletes, who alternately covered six stages to complete the 42.195 km marathon distance. The first, third and fifth stages were of 5 km, the second and fourth stages were of 10 km, and the final stage covered the remaining 7.195 km.
