Erin's Own GAA (Cork)
Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies football. The club is part of the Imokilly division. History Located in the Little Island, Knockraha, Brooklodge and Glounthaune areas of east Cork, Erin's Own GAA Club was founded in 1963 following the amalgamation of the Knockraha and Little Island clubs. The club spent its early years operating at junior level, however, the winning of four East Cork JHC titles between 1973 and 1979 lead to the club's hurling team upgrading to the Cork IHC in 1980. Erin's Own secured Cork IHC titles in 1984 and 1987 before claiming their very first Cork SHC title in 1992. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into five divisions, with seven teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Robert O'Flynn (born 7 November 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-forward for club side Erin's Own and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career Christian Brothers College O'Flynn first came to prominence as a hurler with Christian Brothers College. Having played hurling in every grade during his time at the school, he usually lined out in the forwards on the senior team in the Harty Cup. University College Cork On 23 February 2019, O'Flynn was a substitute for University College Cork when they faced Mary Immaculate College in the Fitzgibbon Cup final. He was introduced in the 15th minute and claimed a winners' medal after the 2-21 to 0-13 victory. O'Flynn played in a second successive Fitzgibbon Cup final on 12 February 2020. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. They also competed against inter-county sides in the pre-season McGrath Cup (football) and Waterford Crystal Cup (hurling).
