Jack O'Connor (Cork Hurler)
Jack O'Connor (born 1 October 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a corner-forward. Playing career Sarsfields O'Connor joined the Sarsfields club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels, winning a premier under-21 championship medal in 2017 following an eight-point defeat of Killeagh- St Ita's. By this stage, he had already made his senior hurling championship debut, coming on as a substitute in a 0–14 to 0–11 defeat of Carrigtwohill on 28 May 2016. Cork Minor and under-21 O'Connor first played for Cork at minor level in 2016, however, his sole season in the grade ended with a defeat by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. Glanmire
Glanmire () is a suburban town from Cork city centre, in the civil parish of Rathcooney, County Cork, Ireland. Glanmire is within the administrative area of Cork City Council and the Dáil constituency of Cork North-Central. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. The 2023 Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship was the fourth staging of the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and the 135th staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking hurling teams in Cork. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 11 December 2022. The championship ran from 6 June to 15 October 2023. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Sarsfields in the semi-finals. 27-time champions Glen Rovers' relegation brought an end to 97 years of top tier hurling for the club. The 2022 Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship was the third staging of the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and the 134th staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking hurling teams in Cork. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 8 February 2022. The championship ran from 7 June to 16 October 2022. Midleton entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify for the knockout stage after losing two games and finishing bottom of Group A. Na Piarsaigh's relegation ended 65 years of top tier hurling for the club. The 2020 Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and the 132nd staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking hurling teams in Cork. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 19 November 2019. The championship was scheduled to begin on 17 April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games.
