''Jack Nicklaus'' is a series of golf video games named after golfer Jack Nicklaus. The first game, '' Jack Nicklaus' Greatest 18 Holes of Major Championship Golf'', was developed by Sculptured Software and published by Accolade. It was released for various platforms beginning in 1988. Accolade would publish subsequent games in the series for the next decade, before selling the rights to Activision in 1998. Activision published a sixth game in the series, '' Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge'', in 1999, but chose not to publish a sequel due to poor sales. The next game in the series, ''Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf'', was released by a new company in 2016. Amiga
Amiga is a family of personal computers produced by Commodore International, Commodore from 1985 until the company's bankruptcy in 1994, with production by others afterward. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16-bit or 16/32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. These include the Atari ST as well as the Macintosh 128K, Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. Tradewest, Inc. was an American video game company based in Corsicana, Texas that produced numerous games in the 1980s and early 1990s. The company was the publisher of the '' Battletoads'' and ''Double Dragon'' series in North America and the PAL region. ''Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf & Course Design'' is a 1990 golf video game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Accolade for the Amiga and MS-DOS. A Super NES version with the same golf courses, titled ''Jack Nicklaus Golf'', was released in May 1992. It is the second in a series of golf games named after golfer Jack Nicklaus, following '' Jack Nicklaus' Greatest 18 Holes of Major Championship Golf'' (1988). MacSoft was an American video game developer and publisher founded in 1993 by Peter Tamte as a subsidiary of WizardWorks, specializing in the production of video game ports from Microsoft Windows to Macintosh operating systems, as well as productivity software.
