Järnkaminerna
Järnkaminerna (lit. The Iron Stoves) is the largest official supporter club of the sports club Djurgårdens IF. Järnkaminerna is also a nickname for the sports club itself. A common shortened form of the supporters club Järnkaminerna is JK. History The nickname derives from the 1950s when Djurgårdens IF's football division was renowned for their physique and physical training as well as their rough style of play on the pitch. The stripes of the Djurgården jersey, particularly the away colors of blue and dark red, looked somewhat similar to an old-style iron stove, the blue being the iron slats and the red the glow of the fire. After this period the team became commonly known as "Järnkaminerna" (''The Iron Stoves''). The nickname has remained arguably the most popular nickname for Djurgårdens IF, its players and supporters, together with "the blue stripes", until today. Djurgårdens IF Fotbollsförening – commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Fotboll (official name), Djurgården (), and (especially locally) Djurgår'n (), Dif or DIF – is a Swedish professional men's association football department of its parent association Djurgårdens IF. Founded 1891 on the island of Djurgården, the club's home ground is 3Arena_(Stockholm), 3Arena, situated in the Johanneshov district of Stockholm. Competing in the highest Swedish tier, Allsvenskan, the club has won the List of Swedish football champions, national title twelve times and the Svenska Cupen five times. The national titles have mainly been won during three separate eras. The first period was the 1910s, when the team won four national titles. The second era occurred in the 1950s and 1960s, when Djurgården won the league four times. Djurgårdens IF is an since 1991 and, , it consists of 22 individual sports clubs. History Founding (1891–1896) The Club (organization), club was founded in 1891 by a group of young Sportsperson, athletes living in the borough and port district on Djurgården in central Stockholm. Inspired by the Norwegian His Majesty the King's Guard and their ski jumping exhibitions in Stockholm, the adolescents of the area contested diverse sports against each other both summertime and wintertime.
