Impact (student Magazine)
''Impact Magazine'' is the official student magazine of the University of Nottingham, it has been published in various forms and various names since 1939. Run on a voluntary basis using funds from the Students' Union, the magazine is available free to students. ''Impact'' also publishes a website, which has been online since 8 January 2006, and an app, which was launched in 2016. Awards ''Impact'' journalist Nicola Byrom was designated Mind's Student Journalist of the Year 2009 for her "outstanding contribution to mental health awareness". ''Impact Magazine'' has also won several awards at the annual ''Guardian'' Student Media Awards. It won "Student Magazine of the Year" in 2001 and was runner-up in this category in 2005 and 2007. Lifestyle (sociology)
Lifestyle is the interests, opinions, behaviours, and behavioural orientations of an individual, group, or culture. The term was introduced by Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler in his 1929 book, ''The Case of Miss R.'', with the meaning of "a person's basic character as established early in childhood". The broader sense of lifestyle as a "way or style of living" has been documented since 1961. Lifestyle is a combination of determining intangible or tangible factors. Tangible factors relate specifically to demographic variables, i.e. an individual's demographic profile, whereas intangible factors concern the psychological aspects of an individual such as personal values, preferences, and outlooks. A feature story is a piece of non-fiction writing about news. A feature story is a type of soft news. The main sub-types are the ''news feature'' and the ''human-interest story''. A feature story is distinguished from other types of non-news by the quality of the writing. Stories should be memorable for their reporting, crafting, creativity, and economy of expression. Style A feature story, as contrasted with straight news reporting, normally presents newsworthy events and information through a narrative story, complete with a plot and story characters. University Of Nottingham Students' Union
The University of Nottingham Students' Union (often abbreviated as UoNSU ( /ˈjɒnsuː/)) is the students' union at the University of Nottingham, England. It is a representative body that aims to represent students to both the university and the wider community. The Students' Union is housed in the Portland Building on University Park campus, a building shared with some non-student union activities. The union receives a block grant from the university of over £2 million to support its activities, although the union also raises money through income streams such as the Union shop and a bar. All members of the University of Nottingham are automatically members of the Students' Union, unless they use their right to opt out of membership. English Language
English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. The ''Guardian'' Student Media Awards were an annual UK-wide student journalism competition run by ''The Guardian'' newspaper. They were cancelled from 2016 onwards to save costs.
