"It's a Good Life" is the eighth episode of the third season of the American television series ''The Twilight Zone'', and the 73rd overall. It was written by series creator/showrunner Rod Serling, based on the 1953 short story " It's a ''Good'' Life" by Jerome Bixby. The episode was directed by James Sheldon, and is considered by some, such as ''Time'' and ''TV Guide'', to be one of the best episodes of the series. It originally aired on November 3, 1961. The episode was one of four from the original 1959 series which formed the basis of the 1983 film '' Twilight Zone: The Movie''. ''The Twilight Zone'' (marketed as ''Twilight Zone'' for its final two seasons) is an American fantasy science fiction horror anthology series, anthology television series created and presented by Rod Serling, which ran for five seasons on CBS from October 2, 1959, to June 19, 1964. Each episode presents a standalone story in which characters find themselves dealing with often disturbing or unusual events, an experience described as entering "the Twilight Zone", often with a Plot twist, surprise ending and a moral. "The Movie" is the fourteenth episode of the fourth season of the American television sitcom ''Seinfeld'' (and the 54th episode overall). It first aired on NBC in the United States on January 6, 1993. The episode revolves entirely around the characters' struggles to go to see a movie together. Plot Jerry has two stand-up acts scheduled for the same night; due to a delay in one of them, he cannot make both shows. A hopeful comedian, Buckles, hangs around to fill in when somebody drops out. Starvation
Starvation is a severe deficiency in caloric energy intake, below the level needed to maintain an organism's life. It is the most extreme form of malnutrition. Jack-in-the-box
A jack-in-the-box is a children's toy that outwardly consists of a Music Box, music box with a Crankset, crank. When the crank is turned, a music box mechanism in the toy plays a melody. After the crank has been turned a sufficient number of times (such as at the end of the melody), the lid pops open and a figure, usually a clown or jester, pops out of the box. Some jacks-in-the-box open at random times when cranked, making the startle even more effective. Many of those that use "Pop Goes the Weasel" open at the point in the melody when the word "pop" would be sung.
