István Szabó (born 17 January 1967) is a Hungarian football manager and a former player. He is the manager of Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC. Managerial career Kecskemét In 2021, he was appointed as the manager of Kecskeméti TE. In the 2021–22 Nemzeti Bajnokság II, Kecskemét finished second and were promoted to the first division. On 15 October 2024, he was sacked as the manager of Kecskeméti TE. After his removal from his position, the supporters of the club organized a protest. He was replaced by former Hungarian national team player, Zoltán Gera. Nyíregyháza On 8 April 2025, he was appointed as the manager of Nemzeti Bajnokság I club Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC. Kecskemét ( ) is a city with county rights in central Hungary. It is the List of cities and towns of Hungary, eighth-largest city in the country, and the county seat of Bács-Kiskun County, Bács-Kiskun. Fehérvár Football Club (commonly known as ''Fehérvár'', ''Vidi'', or ''MOL Fehérvár Football Club'' for sponsorship reasons), is a Hungarian professional football club based in Székesfehérvár, which plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II from 2025–26, the second level of the Hungarian league system after relegation from Nemzeti Bajnokság I in 2024–25. The Ferencváros Stadion, also known as the Groupama Aréna for sponsorship purposes, is a multi-purpose stadium in Ferencváros, Budapest, Hungary and the home of Ferencvárosi TC. Városi Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Nyíregyháza Spartacus. History On 26 September 2020, it was announced that the planning of the new stadium could start. The capacity of the new stadium will be 8,150. On 11 January 2021, the design of the new stadium was revealed by StadiumDB. The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at.
