Max Abramson
Albert "Max" Abramson (born April 29, 1976) is an American politician who most recently served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Rockingham District 37 (Hampton Falls, Seabrook) from 2018 to 2022. He previously represented the same district from 2014 to 2016. He ran for the nomination of the Libertarian Party for the 2020 presidential election, but dropped out on March 3, 2020. Abramson was the Libertarian nominee for Governor of New Hampshire in 2016. He sought the Veterans Party nomination for President but lost. Douglass Theatre
The Douglass Theatre is a theatre in Macon, Georgia. It was founded in 1921 by Charles Henry Douglass, an African-American entrepreneur who was an established theatre developer well versed in the vaudeville and entertainment business. Ben Stein owned and managed the theater in 1928. According to the Douglass Theatre website, the Douglass was a part of the Theater Owners Booking Association – a chain of 40 theatres that served as an agency for many African American artists and performers. The theatre remained in operation until the 1970s. It was dormant for many years before being saved from demolition in the 1990s by a community group that became the non-profit "Friends of the Douglass Theatre". The Chicago Board of Censors was a film censorship committee based in Chicago that was founded in 1907 as the Police Censor Board, and operated until 1984. It was the first film censorship board in the United States. The board had great influence over the editing and distribution of many films. The Payne Fund Studies were a series of thirteen studies conducted over a four-year period from 1929 to 1933, and later published between 1933 and 1936 which aimed to determine the effects of movies on the behaviour of children and adolescents. They were the first attempt to rigorously study the media, as well as the first attempt to develop a social science research model using quantitative and qualitative methods to measure the effects that mass media have on individuals.
