Is It True? (Yohanna Song)
"Is It True?" is a song by Icelandic singer Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir, Yohanna, the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. The song was composed by Óskar Páll Sveinsson and won second place in the contest. The song was also recorded in Spanish language, Spanish ("Si te vas"), German language, German ("War es nur"), Russian language, Russian ("" / "Ya ne splyu") and French language, French ("Si tu sais"). Yohanna performed the song in the first semi-final on 12 May 2009, where it came in first place with 174 points, qualifying for the final. In the final, the song came in second place overall with 218 points. Is It True (May 12, 1986 – February 22, 2007) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He is best known for his win in the 1988 Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Background Bred by Warner L. Jones at his Hermitage Farm near Goshen, Kentucky, he was purchased by Eugene Klein who handed him over to trainer D. Wayne Lukas for race conditioning. Racing career At age two, Is It True made six starts, compiling a 2-2-1 record. He lost three times to future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee Easy Goer, having finished fourth in the Grade I Cowdin Stakes, second in the Grade I Champagne Stakes, and second in a maiden race. However, in their most important meeting of 1988, run on a muddy track at Churchill Downs, Is It True defeated Easy Goer in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile by a little over a length, though Easy Goer won the Eclipse Award for American Champion Two Year Old Male. "Is It True" is a song released in 1964 by Brenda Lee. In 1964, Brenda Lee was flown by Decca to England to cut a single record, initially conceived for release exclusively in the United Kingdom, but it was in fact also released in the US shortly after release in the UK. "Is It True" was written by John Carter and Ken Lewis, then two of England's top songwriters. The single reached No. 17 on both the United Kingdom's ''Record Retailer'' chart and the United States' ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, and reached No. 8 on Canada's ''RPM'' "Top 40 & 5" and No. 11 on Canada's CHUM Hit Parade. "Is It True" is a 2020 single by Australian psychedelic project Tame Impala, and is the sixth and final single released in promotion of their fourth studio album, '' The Slow Rush''. While it was initially released on February 14, 2020 as the ninth track on the album, it would be released as a standalone single on August 7, 2020. The song would be remixed by Four Tet for the deluxe edition of the album called ''The Slow Rush – B-Sides and Remixes''. Barrett Strong Jr. (February 5, 1941 – January 28, 2023) was an American singer and songwriter known for his recording of "Money (That's What I Want)", which was the first hit single for the Motown record label. He is also known for his songwriting work in association with producer Norman Whitfield; together, they penned such songs as " I Heard It Through the Grapevine", " War", " Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", and " Papa Was a Rollin' Stone". In 2004, Strong was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside Whitfield. Described by band member Bob Stanley as "a patchwork more than a compilation", it includes previously released material such as the UK hit "He's on the Phone" as well as curios like their cover of the Paul Gardiner song " Stormtrooper in Drag".
