The Ireland women's national cricket team, Ireland women's cricket team and Scotland women's national cricket team, Scotland women's cricket team played three Women's One Day International, One Day International (ODI) and two Women's Twenty20 International, Twenty20 International (T20I) matches at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almería, Spain in October 2023. The ODIs were the first played by Scotland since regaining official ODI status in November 2022, coming over 20 years since the team's previous ODI fixtures at the 2003 IWCC Trophy. Scotland won the first ODI by 40 runs. Ireland set up a series decider by winning the second ODI by 79 runs. The Irish side completed a 2–1 series win with a 33-run victory in the third ODI. The first T20I was won by Ireland by 7 wickets, giving the Irish an unassailable lead in the multi-format series. Scotland won the second T20I by 8 wickets to draw the series 1–1. Laura Katherine Delany (born 23 December 1992) is an Irish cricketer who currently Captain (cricket), captains Typhoons (women's cricket), Typhoons. She is a right-handed Batting (cricket), batter and right-arm Fast bowling, medium pace Bowling (cricket), bowler. Delany made her debut for Ireland in a Women's One-Day International (WODI) against New Zealand women's national cricket team, New Zealand at Kibworth Cricket Club New Ground in July 2010. In July 2021, during Ireland's Netherlands women's cricket team in Ireland in 2021, home series against the Netherlands, Delany broke the captaincy record for her team, leading them for the 63rd time, passing Isobel Joyce's record of 62 matches as captain.
