Iranian Super Cup
The Iranian Super Cup (Persian language, Persian: سوپر جام ایران, ''Super Jam-e 'Iran'') is an Iranian association football trophy awarded to the winner of a match between the Persian Gulf Pro League's season champion and the winner of the Hazfi Cup. It is similar to numerous other Super Cup tournaments held in other countries. The tournament was only held once in 2005 when Hazfi Cup champions Saba Battery F.C., Saba Battery defeated league champions Foolad F.C., Foolad 4–0. The next edition of the Iranian Super Cup was planned to be played on 10 August 2007 between the 2006–07 Persian Gulf Cup, 2006–07 league champions Saipa F.C., Saipa and the Hazfi Cup winners Sepahan F.C., Sepahan but the match was cancelled. After Mehdi Taj was elected as Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran, Federation president in 2016, the Iranian Super Cup was restarted. Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan Sport Club (, ''Bâšgâh-e Farhangi-Varzeši-ye Fulâd-e Mobârake-ye Sepâhân''), commonly known as Sepahan, is an Iranian sports club based in Isfahan. It is best known for their association football, football section that play in the Persian Gulf Pro League, the highest tier of Iranian football league system. The Azadi Stadium (, ), opened as the Aryamehr Stadium (), is an all-seater football stadium in Tehran, Iran. The stadium was designed by Abdol Aziz Mirza Farman-Farmaian Architects and Associates (AFFA) with other parts of the sports complex based on plans by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm. Fuladshahr () is a city in, and the capital of, Fuladshahr District of Lenjan County, Isfahan province, Iran. It is also the administrative center for Khorramrud Rural District.
