International Cricket
International cricket matches are played between the teams representing their nations, administrated by the International Cricket Council. The main forms are Test matches, ODI matches and T20I matches. Most games are played as part of "tours" when one nation travels to another for a number of weeks or months and plays a number of matches of various sorts against the host nation. World Cups featuring several countries at once, are organized by the ICC. The ICC is also responsible for cricket games played at multi-sport events such as Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, African Games, Asian Games, South Asian Games and Pacific Games. Laws Of Cricket
The ''Laws of Cricket'' is a code that specifies the rules of the game of cricket worldwide. The earliest known code was drafted in 1744. Since 1788, the code has been owned and maintained by the private Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in Lord's Cricket Ground, London. There are currently 42 Laws (always written with a capital "L"), which describe all aspects of how the game is to be played. MCC has re-coded the Laws six times, each with interim revisions that produce more than one edition. The most recent code, the seventh, was released in October 2017; its 3rd edition came into force on 1 October 2022. Formerly cricket's official governing body, the MCC has handed that role to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The English cricket team toured the West Indies from 16 January to 8 April 1998 as part of the 1997–98 West Indies cricket season. The tour included six Tests and five One Day Internationals, with West Indies winning the Test series 3–1 and the ODI series 4–1. Originally five Tests were scheduled; however, the opening Test at Sabina Park was called off after 62 deliveries due to an unsafe pitch, and a sixth Test in Trinidad was hurriedly scheduled to take its place. Imperial Cricket Conference
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. In 1965, the body was renamed as the International Cricket Conference and adopted its current name in 1987. ICC has its headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The ICC currently has 108 member nations: 12 full members that play Test matches, and 96 associate members. St George's Cricket Club
The St George's Cricket Club, also referred to as the St George Cricket Club, was the leading cricket club in the United States from the 1840s to the 1870s. Founded in 1839, with assistance from prominent members of the St George's Society of New York, it was originally located in Manhattan, New York, and later moved to Hoboken, New Jersey. Nicknamed the "Dragon Slayers", in 1844 the club hosted the first international cricket match, between teams representing Canada and the United States. It disbanded in 1898.
