International Women's Media Foundation Awards
The International Women's Media Foundation awards are annual prizes for women journalists awarded by the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) since its foundation in 1990: the Courage in Journalism Award (awarded since 1990); the Lifetime Achievement Award (awarded from 1991 to 2018); the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award (awarded since 2015); the Gwen Ifill Award (awarded since 2017); and the Wallis Annenberg Justice for Women Journalists Award (awarded since 2021). The 2014 award ceremonies were on October 22 in New York, and October 29 in Los Angeles. Courage in Journalism Award The Courage in Journalism Award, awarded annually since 1990, recognizes women who write from dangerous areas. Women Journalists
A woman is an adult female human. Before adulthood, a female child or Adolescence, adolescent is referred to as a girl. Typically, women are of the female sex and inherit a pair of X chromosomes, one from each parent, and women with functional uteruses are capable of pregnancy and giving childbirth, birth from puberty until menopause. Razia Bhatti
Razia Bhatti (Urdu: رضیہ بھٹی) (born 1944 – died 12 March 1996) was a Pakistani journalist who served as editor of the Herald and Newsline magazines. When she died at the age of 52, the Pakistan Press Foundation called it "end of a golden chapter of journalism in Pakistan." Bhatti founded staff-owned Newsline magazine with the help of other female journalists after leaving Herald magazine. She was the editor of Pakistani magazine Herald for 12 years and then she founded Newsline and edited it for 8 years. Bina Bektiati is an Indonesian journalist and author. A writer for ''Tempo'' magazine, she helped found the Alliance of Independent Journalists after ''Tempo'' was banned in 1994. Briefly exiled from Indonesia, she won the Courage in Journalism Award in 1997. After returning to Indonesia, she is today an editor at ''Tempo'', and a regular contributor to the ''Jakarta Post''. Lucy Banda-Sichone (1954–1998) was a Zambian civil rights activist who played a pivotal role in representing the Zambian people who had their rights violated by the State at the time. Born and raised in Zambia's second largest city, Kitwe, she became the first Zambian woman to receive a Rhodes Scholarship and also the first woman to have her portrait displayed on the walls of Oxford University's prestigious Rhodes House.
