Ingó og Veðurguðirnir (in English Ingó and the Weathergods) is an Icelandic musical formation made up of Ingó (full name Ingólfur Þórarinsson) as main vocalist and acoustic guitar player with Maggi (guitar), Eyþór (bass) and Óskar (drums). Ingó og Veðurguðirnir are best known for their summer hit " Bahama". The song stayed at the top of Tónlist, the official Icelandic Singles Chart for 9 consecutive weeks in 2008. They peaked the Iceland charts for one week in 2009 with "Nóttin er liðin". Another hit for Ingó og Veðurguðirnir called "Gestalistinn" stayed for 9 weeks at the top of Tónlist charts (2009 weeks 39 to 46 and week 48). Other releases by the formation include "Argentína". Iceland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Is It True? (Yohanna song), Is It True?" written by Óskar Páll Sveinsson, Tinatin Japaridze and Christopher Neil. The song was performed by Yohanna, which is the artistic name of singer Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir. The Icelandic entry for the 2009 contest in Moscow, Russia was selected through the national final ''Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2009'', organised by the Icelandic broadcaster Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV). The selection consisted of four semi-finals and a final, held on 10 January, 17 January, 24 January, 31 January and 14 February 2009, respectively. Four songs competed in each semi-final with the top two as selected by a public televote advancing to the final. Eiríkur Hauksson
Eiríkur Hauksson (born 4 July 1959) is an Icelandic heavy metal vocalist. He represented Iceland at Eurovision in 1986 and in 2007. Career Eiríkur's career as a vocalist began in earnest when the song "Sekur" he wrote and performed with the Icelandic rock group Start was voted the Icelandic song of the year in 1981. In 1984 Eiríkur's metal group Drýsill, released the album "Welcome to the show" which was released in 1000 copies. In 1985 Eiríkur recorded two songs, "Gaggó Vest" and "Gull", written by Gunnar Þórðarson that both became popular in Iceland. Although his interest went with the heavy metal genre, he participated in the pop music scene in Iceland, participating in many group efforts in the 1980s. In 1988 Eiríkur moved to Østfold in Norway to become the vocalist of the power metal group Artch. As their vocalist he's known as Eric Hawk. "Is It True?" is a song by Icelandic singer Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir, Yohanna, the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. The song was composed by Óskar Páll Sveinsson and won second place in the contest. The song was also recorded in Spanish language, Spanish ("Si te vas"), German language, German ("War es nur"), Russian language, Russian ("" / "Ya ne splyu") and French language, French ("Si tu sais"). Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir (born 16 October 1990), known outside Iceland as Yohanna, is an Icelandic singer. Beginning her music career as a child singer, Yohanna received international recognition after representing Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song " Is It True?", placing as the runner-up. This tied for the best result Iceland had ever achieved in the contest. Following the success at Eurovision, she released the studio album '' Butterflies and Elvis'' (2009). Following Eurovision 2009, Yohanna has since attempted to represent Iceland again on two occasions.
