Indigo Tribe
The Indigo Tribe is a fictional organization that appears in DC Comics publications, primarily those of the ''Green Lantern'' series. In the DC Universe, it is one of the seven major groups known to comprise the Lantern Corps. The group was created by comic book writer Geoff Johns and comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver. It made its debut in the issue #25 of ''Green Lantern (comic book), Green Lantern'' (vol. 4) in December 2007. Background The Indigo Tribe is one of the nine Corps of the emotional spectrum within the DC Universe setting. Each "Emotional Spectrum" Corps has both a corresponding color of the rainbow and an emotional theme attached to it, with several of the Corps (such as the Green Lantern Corps and Red Lantern Corps) being named after their respective color. The Indigo Tribe's members use indigo-light-powered rings and staffs and are powered by the indigo light of compassion. Blackest Night
"Blackest Night" is a 2009–10 American comic book Fictional crossover, crossover storyline published by DC Comics, consisting of an eponymous central miniseries, written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Ivan Reis, along with a number of tie-in issues. ''Blackest Night'' involves Nekron, a personified force of death who reanimates deceased superheroes and seeks to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. Johns identified the series' central theme as emotion. The crossover was published for eight months as a limited series and in both the ''Green Lantern (comic book), Green Lantern'' and ''Green Lantern Corps'' comic titles. Various other limited series and tie-ins, including an audio drama from Darker Projects, were published. José Edilbenes Bezerra (born November 20, 1972), better known by his professional name Ed Benes, is a Brazilian comic book artist, known for his work for DC Comics, on such titles as ''Birds of Prey (comics), Birds of Prey'', ''Supergirl (comic book), Supergirl'', ''Superman'', and ''Justice League, Justice League of America''. Early life José Edilbenes Bezerra was born November 20, 1972, in Alto Santo, a small town in the Brazilian state of Ceará, in the northeast region of the country. He has lived in Limoeiro do Norte, a medium town also in Ceará state, since he was 14 years old. He began drawing on his own in 1989, referencing the artwork from his brother's comic books. He also took a correspondence art course, though he did not finish it. Black Hand (William Derek Hand) is a supervillain and a recurring foe to Hal Jordan, Green Lantern. Publication history Black Hand first appeared in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 2) #29 (June 1964) and was created by John Broome (writer), John Broome and Gil Kane. He is based on and named after DC writer and Batman co-creator Bill Finger. Fictional character biography William Hand is born an inventive genius. The White Lantern Corps is a fictional organization appearing in comics published by DC Comics, related to the emotional spectrum. Founded during the '' Blackest Night'' event, the members of the White Lantern Corps are powered by the white light of life and are the opposite of the Black Lantern Corps, which represent death. Life Entity
The Life Entity is a fictional creature, a physical embodiment of all life within the DC Universe. Long ago starting all life from the planet Earth, it went on to create the seven entities of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum, and was hidden in a dimensional tear within the Earth by the Guardians of the Universe when they discovered its existence to preserve it from exploitation and possible harm. Sue Dibny
Susan Dibny (née Dearbon) is a fictional character from DC Comics associated with the Elongated Man. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, the character first appeared in ''Flash'' vol. 1 #119 (March 1961). In 2004, Sue Dibny became a flashpoint for discussions of women in comics following the events of ''Identity Crisis'', in which she is murdered by Jean Loring and revealed to have been raped by Doctor Light in the past. Elongated Man (Randolph William "Ralph" Dibny) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He first appeared in ''The Flash'' #112 (February 25, 1960).
