''In Concert – Live at Sibelius Hall'' is a collaboration album by Finnish soprano Tarja Turunen with musicians Kalevi Kiviniemi, Marzi Nyman and Markku Khron recorded at the Sibelius Hall, Finland and released on 25 November 2011. Information First plans of creating a classical group came out in 2006, when Tarja, Kalevi, Marzi and Markku made a concert together for the first time. They continued to present some concerts through Finland until they decided to formalize the group, by naming it ''Harus''. As Tarja explained: ''"There is an old Finnish tradition when it comes to newborns – the baby is not to be named until the baptism ceremony, when he or she is presented to the family with the chosen name. A few years ago, in 2006, a new project was born and, following the same tradition, the time has come to baptize it, to make the presentations to the family and to give it a name – HARUS."'' Tarja Turunen
Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli (born 17 August 1977), known professionally as Tarja Turunen or simply Tarja, is a Finnish Heavy metal music, heavy metal singer, best known as the former lead vocalist of Nightwish. Turunen studied lyrical singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She is a professional classical lied singer with a three-octave vocal range, and founded symphonic metal band Nightwish with Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen in 1996. Their combination of hard and fast guitar riffs with Turunen's dramatic, "operatic" lead vocals quickly achieved critical and commercial popularity. Their symphonic metal style, soon dubbed "opera metal", inspired many other metal bands and performers. Kalevi Kiviniemi
Kalevi Ilmari Kiviniemi (30 June 1958 – 3 April 2024) was a Finnish concert organist. He gave more than 2,000 concerts, and his discography includes nearly 200 titles, many of them featuring significant and unique organs in the US, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany. Kiviniemi was also regarded as a distinguished improviser. He was the first to record the complete organ works by Jean Sibelius. Life and career Born in Jalasjärvi on 30 June 1958, Kiviniemi began playing the organ at age 17. He studied at the and at the Sibelius Academy, achieving a concert diploma in 1983 under Eero Väätäinen and Olli Linjama (improvisation). The Sibelius Hall () is a concert hall in Lahti, Finland, named after the composer Jean Sibelius. The concert hall was completed in 2000. Architects Kimmo Lintula and Hannu Tikka designed the hall, which is made out of glulam. The acoustics were engineered by Artec Consultants, New York. Its acoustics are one of its strongest points, while the architecture follows the Scandinavian tradition of sophisticated design. The concert hall has a capacity of 1,250 seats. ''You Would Have Loved This'' is Tarja's second solo single which is a dedication to her mother and predates the release of her Christmas album, '' Henkäys Ikuisuudesta''. Five fans watched the single being made after winning the promotion, "Win a Day With Tarja Turunen", made in the official web forum. The single was released with only 1,000 copies, that were sold out in the first selling week, taking the 5th place in the official Finnish parades, the highest position for a new music in the first week. "You Would Have Loved This" was recorded originally by Cori Connors to the album "Sleepy Little Town". The music was written for Connors' mother-in-law, Helen Roy Connors, who died in 1994. "Walking in the Air" is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film ''The Snowman'' based on Raymond Briggs's 1978 children's book of the same name. The song forms the centrepiece of ''The Snowman'', which has become a seasonal favourite on British and Finnish television. The story relates the fleeting adventures of a young boy and a snowman who has come to life. In the second part of the story, the boy and the snowman fly to the North Pole. "Walking in the Air" is the theme for the journey.
