The Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady also Sé Catedral da Natividade de Nossa Senhora and Igreja da Sé () is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Sé, Macau. It is the current cathedral of the Diocese of Macau. The cathedral is also called the "Church of the Nativity of Our Lady". The cathedral is included in the list of historical monuments of the Historic Centre of Macau, which in turn is included in the list of World Heritage Sites in China. Sé, Macau
Sé is a southeast Freguesia (Macau), civil parish in the Macau Peninsula of Macau. It is the second largest peninsular district in Macau after the civil parish of Freguesia de Nossa Senhora de Fátima (Macau), Nossa Senhora de Fátima. The parish area is named for the Igreja da Sé (Macau), Igreja da Sé. This parish was one of five in the former Municipality of Macau, one of Macau's two municipalities that were abolished on 31 December 2001 by Law No. 17/2001, following the 1999 transfer of sovereignty over Macau from Portugal to China. Macau Peninsula
The Macau Peninsula is the historical and most populous part of Macau. It has an area of () and is geographically connected to Guangdong Province at the northeast through an isthmus wide. The peninsula, together with downtown Zhuhai, sits on an island separated from the continent by distributaries of the Pearl River. The Border Gate (; ) was built on the northern isthmus. Stephen Lee Bun-sang (born 10 November 1956, in Hong Kong; in ) is a Hongkonger Catholic prelate who has served as Bishop of Macau since 2016. Lee entered the priesthood in 1988 and became Auxiliary Bishop of Hong Kong in 2014. He is a numerary of Opus Dei. Early life Lee was born in and raised in Hong Kong. He was baptized as Roman Catholic on 24 July 1976. He received his Bachelor in Architectural Studies in England. Lee went back to Hong Kong to start up his profession as architect.
