The Icelandic Women's Basketball Supercup ( is, Meistarakeppni kvenna) is a basketball super cup competition that opposes the latest winners of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna – the top-tier Icelandic national women's domestic league – and the winners of the Icelandic Women's Basketball Cup, the top-tier national women's cup competition in Iceland. Created in 1995, it is organised by the Icelandic Basketball Federation – who run the Úrvalsdeild and the Icelandic Cup, and it traditionally opens the season. Skallagrímur Women's Basketball
The Skallagrímur women's basketball team, commonly known as Skallagrímur, is the women's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Skallagrímur, based in Borgarnes, Iceland. It currently plays in Úrvalsdeild kvenna. History Skallagrímur started its women's program in 1958. In 1963, it participated in the national tournament and finished as the runner-up to ÍR. In 1964 it won its first national championship after finishing first in the national tournament. In the championship clinching game, Skallagrímur defeating ÍR 23-22 behind Sigrún Kristjánsdóttir 17 points. Hlíðarendi () is a multi-purpose stadium in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is the home-court of Valur's football, basketball and handball teams. Brittanny Dinkins (born March 8, 1994, in Miami, Florida) is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball for Southern Mississippi where she was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Tournament Team in 2017. Following her college career, she went on to play professionally in Iceland where she was named the Icelandic Cup MVP in 2018 and the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year in 2019. Carmen Virginia Tyson-Thomas (born January 10, 1991) is an American basketball player. Haiden Denise Palmer (born March 28, 1991 in Moreno Valley, California) is an American former basketball player. She played college basketball for Oregon State and Gonzaga before going on to play professionally. She won the Icelandic championship and Icelandic Cup with Snæfell in 2016 while being named the Foreign Player of the Year, Playoffs MVP and the Cup MVP. Kristrún Sigurjónsdóttir (born 14 March 1985) is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. During her career, she won the Icelandic championship three times as a member of Haukar.
