Ice Hockey At The 2022 Winter Olympics
The Ice hockey at the Olympic Games, ice hockey competitions of the 2022 Winter Olympics were played at two venues located in the Beijing cluster: the National Indoor Stadium, Beijing National Indoor Stadium, which seats 18,000, located at the Olympic Green area, and the Wukesong Arena, seating 10,000, with both arenas having been constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The men's tournament had 12 teams competing, and the women's tournament 10 for the first time (an increase of two from 2018). Two events were contested, one each for men and women. The National Indoor Stadium (), a.k.a. ''Folding Fan'' (折扇), is an arena located at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people, and was constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is nicknamed ''the Fan'' (扇子, ''shànzi'') due to its design resembling a traditional Chinese folding fan. History Glöckner³ designed the indoor stadium, in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD), after winning an international architectural competition in October 2003. Kari Markus Granlund (born 16 April 1993) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with Genève-Servette HC of the National League (NL). Leonid Aleksandrovich Komarov (, ; born 23 January 1987) is a professional ice hockey centre for HIFK of the SM-liiga. Born to an ethnic Russian– Finnish family in Estonia, and raised in Finland, Komarov plays for Finland internationally.
