The IIHF Women's Pacific Rim Championships were IIHF-sanctioned international ice hockey tournaments held in 1995 and 1996. with teams from Canada, United States, China and Japan. In 1996, the tournament served as a qualifying tournament for the World Championship. After 1996, the tournament was discontinued as the IIHF World Women Championships were enlarged. IIHF World Women Championships
The IIHF World Women's Championship (WW or WWC), officially the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship, is the premier international tournament in women's ice hockey. It is governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The official world competition was first held in 1990, with four more championships held in the 90s. From 1989 to 1996, and in years that there was no world tournament held, there were European Championships and in 1995 and 1996 a Pacific Rim Championship. From the first Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Tournament in 1998 onward, the Olympic tournament was played instead of the IIHF Championships. Afterwards, the IIHF decided to hold Women's Championships in Olympic years, starting in 2014, but not at the top level. The 1995 IIHF Women's Pacific Rim Championship was an international ice hockey tournament held between April 3 and 8, 1995 in San Jose, California, United States. Canada won the tournament despite losing in the group stage 5-2 to the United States. They defeated China in a shootout before taking the US to a shootout as well to win the championship. Minoru Park
Minoru Park is a park located on the site of a former horse-racing track and airstrip in Richmond, British Columbia. The park's running track is often used by School District 38 Richmond for school competitions, such as track and field. The area is home to the Minoru Arenas, Minoru Track, Minoru Aquatic Centre and Richmond Cultural Centre (which in turn houses the Richmond Public Library's main branch, City of Richmond Archives, Richmond Art Gallery and Richmond Museum). Sharks Ice San Jose (formerly the Ice Center of San Jose, Logitech Ice Center, and Solar4AmericaIce) is an indoor ice rink in San Jose, California, United States. China Women's National Ice Hockey Team
The Chinese women's national ice hockey team () represents China at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Women's Championships, the Asian Winter Games, and other international competitions. The women's national team is governed by the Chinese Ice Hockey Association. China's national women's program is ranked twentieth in the world by the IIHF and has 808 active players as of 2020.
