"I'm Doin' Fine Now" is a song by American R&B group New York City. Released in 1973 by Chelsea Records from their debut album of the same name (1973), the song reached number 17 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number eight on the ''Billboard'' Easy Listening chart, number 20 on the UK Singles Chart and number 26 on the Canadian ''RPM'' Top Singles chart. It was the 46th most successful song of 1973 in the US. When it debuted on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 on April 28, 1973, Kasem remarked that the members of the band were keeping their "day jobs" until they were sure that the band was going to be a big success. At the time of the record's debut on the top 40, Tim McQueen was a systems analyst at a New York City bank, Claude W. New York City was an American Rhythm and blues, R&B vocal group. They formed in 1972 under the name "Tri-Boro Exchange", and all of the group's members had had significant experience singing in other human voice, vocal and doo-wop ensembles. They are also from New York City. Career Under the direction of record producers Wes Farrell and Thom Bell, New York City released two albums and several hit singles, the biggest being 1973's "I'm Doin' Fine Now", which reached Billboard Hot 100, U.S. number 17. Ian Geoffrey Levine (born 22 June 1953) is a British songwriter, producer, DJ, and prominent Doctor Who fan. A populariser of Northern soul music in the UK, and a developer of the style of hi-NRG, he has co-written and co-produced records with sales totalling over 40 million. Early and personal life Levine was born into a Jewish family; his parents owned and ran the "Lemon Tree" complex in Blackpool, including its casino and nightclub. Levine is openly gay. He suffered a major stroke in July 2014, leaving him with severely limited movement on the left side of his body. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created in 1995 on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The European Dance Radio Chart (also known as European Dance Radio Top 25) was a weekly chart compiled by pan-European magazine ''Music & Media''.
