Hope
Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large. As a verb, its definitions include: "expect with confidence" and "to cherish a desire with anticipation." Among its opposites are dejection, hopelessness, and despair. In psychology Professor of Psychology Barbara Fredrickson argues that hope comes into its own when crisis looms, opening us to new creative possibilities. Frederickson argues that with great need comes an unusually wide range of ideas, as well as such positive emotions as happiness and joy, courage, and empowerment, drawn from four different areas of one's self: from a cognitive, psychological, social, or physical perspective. Hopeless (How I Met Your Mother)
"Hopeless" is the 21st episode of the sixth season of the CBS sitcom ''How I Met Your Mother'' and the 133rd episode overall. It aired on April 18, 2011. Plot The episode starts with Barney and his father, Jerry, parting in 1983 after his mother Loretta forbids them further contact due to Jerry's wild lifestyle. Back in the present, Barney is disappointed in Jerry's normal suburban lifestyle, and is reluctant to pursue any further contact. However, when Jerry invites Barney to go fishing with him and his son JJ, Barney resolves to take his dad out to lead him back to his old "party hard" lifestyle. He creates alternate identities for the group so as to impress Jerry: Marshall is a playwright in an open marriage with Lily, while Robin and Ted are dating. "Hopelessly" is a pop song performed by English singer Rick Astley and written by Rob Fisher and Astley. It was produced by Gary Stevenson and Astley. The song was recorded for Astley's first album, '' Body & Soul'' (1993). It was released as the album's second and first single on 3 April 1993 by RCA Records. The single peaked at number 33 in the UK charts. It peaked at number 28 in the US and at number eight in Canada. It is still a recurrent play on most North America hot AC stations, given the fact that it was a hit single in that format (it reached #4 on Billboard's AC chart). It was featured in the compilation Reflections of Love. Astley retired shortly after the song's release, making "Hopelessly" the first single he would release (excluding the album's final single The Ones You Love) until 2001. Hopeless Records
Hopeless Records is an American independent record label in Van Nuys, California. History Hopeless Records was founded in 1993 by Louis Posen. The label's artists are generally considered to fall under the genres of punk rock, pop punk, post-hardcore, and alternative rock, but some also include elements of heavy metal. Some of their best-known artists include All Time Low, Sum 41, Neck Deep, Avenged Sevenfold, Thrice, Yellowcard, Anarbor, Taking Back Sunday, Silverstein, We Are the In Crowd, Bayside, the Used, the Wonder Years, the Human Abstract and Enter Shikari. In July 2008, Hopeless Records announced that it had launched a new imprint, P Is for Panda. It was originally started in 2007 as a clothing line by The Militia Group founder Chad Pearson. Colleen Hoover
Colleen Hoover (born December 11, 1979) is an American author who primarily writes novels in the romance and young adult fiction genres. She is best known for her 2016 romance novel ''It Ends with Us.'' Many of her works were self-published before being picked up by a publishing house. Hoover sold about 20 million books as of October 2022. Early and personal life Hoover was born on December 11, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Vannoy Fite and Eddie Fennell. She grew up in Saltillo, Texas, and graduated from Saltillo High School in 1998. She married Heath Hoover in 2000, and they have three sons. Hoover graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce with a degree in social work. She worked various social work and teaching jobs until starting her career as an author. ''Hopeless'' is a 1963 painting with oil paint and acrylic paint on canvas by Roy Lichtenstein. The painting is in the collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel. Background ''Hopeless'' is derived from Tony Abruzzo's panel from "Run For Love!" in ''Secret Hearts'', no. 83 (November 1962), DC Comics. During the late 1950s and early 1960s a number of American painters began to adapt the imagery and motifs of comic strips. Lichtenstein in 1958 made drawings of comic strip characters. Andy Warhol produced his earliest paintings in the style in 1960. Lichtenstein, unaware of Warhol's work, produced '' Look Mickey'' and ''Popeye'' in 1961. Hopeless (True Blood)
"Hopeless" is the sixth episode of the fifth season of HBO's original series ''True Blood'' and the 54th episode overall. It was first shown on TV on July 15, 2012 and was directed by Dan Attias and written by Alan Ball, creator of the series. The episodes of the series are based on the Charlaine Harris books, The Sookie Stackhouse novels whereas the episodes of the season are based on the fifth book in the series '' Dead As a Doornail (book)'' which follows the Shifters being murdered whereas in the season fang bangers and shifters are being hunted. Even so, the plot of the book is only one of the minor subplots. The episode primarily follows Bill and Eric who must now face Russell again after Roman is killed by him; Sookie and Jason go to a faery club where their family's dark history and greatest secrets are revealed to them. ''Hopeless Fountain Kingdom'' (stylized in all lowercase) is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Halsey. It was released on June 2, 2017, through Astralwerks. The album features guest appearances from Quavo, Lauren Jauregui and Cashmere Cat. Halsey co-wrote every song on the album, while production was handled by Lido and Benny Blanco, among others. Following its release, ''Hopeless Fountain Kingdom'' debuted at number one on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart in the United States and the Canadian Albums Chart.
