Hold That Baby!
''Hold That Baby!'' is a 1949 comedy film starring The Bowery Boys. The film was released on June 26, 1949 by Monogram Pictures and is the fourteenth film in the series. Plot The boys are running a laundromat in the back room of Louie's Sweet Shop. A woman, Laura Andrews, comes in and leaves her baby in one of the laundry baskets and the boys find him. They discover that he is the heir to a fortune, and that his mother hid him so that her aunts couldn't steal the inheritance. After discovering the baby is missing, the aunts have Laura committed to a sanatorium for supposedly being mentally ill. Meanwhile a bunch of gangsters get wind of the situation and make a deal with the aunts to keep the baby away from the reading of the will. Sach and Slip sneak into the sanatorium under the guise of committing Sach where they help Laura escape. Reginald LeBorg
Reginald Le Borg (11 December 1902 – 25 March 1989) was an Austrian film director. He was born in Vienna, Austria with the surname Groebel and directed 68 films between 1936 and 1974. Le Borg made a series of low-budget horror films at Universal Studios in the 1940s. In 1944, he made his most expensive and also most successful film, '' San Diego, I Love You'', featuring Buster Keaton in a supporting role. A banker in Vienna, he came to the United States as a visitor in 1928, 1929 and 1930, according to New York steamship passenger manifests. He was recorded as Harry Reginald Groebel. He emigrated permanently in 1931. In his naturalization petition in 1937, he changed his name legally from Harry Groebel to Reginald Le Borg Le Borg died in Los Angeles, California from a heart attack. Plot Sach Jones and Slip Mahoney are copy boys for the New York Daily Chronicle newspaper who hear that two local police officers, including their friend Gabe, have been shot in the line of duty while trying to stop a robbery. Gabe survives, but his partner does not, so they decide to help find the person responsible--a gangster and member of the Loop Gang from Chicago. The boys then decide to go undercover to try to infiltrate the mob and expose them. They get a green light from their editor, Joe Cobb, to go and investigate the story further. Plot The Bowery Boys, led by the notorious Slip Mahoney, are helping out at a boxing arena, selling programs, drinks and snacks to the audience. The most popular upcoming fight is between their own Jimmy Higgins ”The Battler from the Bowery” and the reigning champion Joey Prince. Cay Forrester
Cay Forrester (born Mila Patricia Crosby; December 26, 1921 – June 18, 2005) was an American film and television actress. She appeared predominantly in minor films with some exceptions, such as ''Advise and Consent'' and the Susan Hayward hit '' Smash-Up, the Story of a Woman''. Biography Forrester made her debut as "Kay Forrester" in a 1943 Western called ''Blazing Guns''. Edward Gargan
Edward Gargan (July 17, 1902 – February 19, 1964) was an American film and television actor. Career He was born of Irish parents in Brooklyn, New York. He was the elder brother of actor William Gargan. As soon as he had left college, he went onto the stage and had extensive acting experience gained in plays like ''My Maryland'', ''Rose Marie'', and ''Good News'' before going into films. His Broadway credits include ''Face the Music'' (1931), ''Polly of Hollywood'' (1926) and ''Black Boy'' (1926). In 1930, Gargan played Patrolman Mulligan in a production of ''Strictly Dishonorable''. Ida Moore (March 1, 1882 – September 26, 1964) was an American film and television actress. Early life Moore was born in Altoona, Kansas, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvelton Moore.
