His Majesty's Military Staff
His Majesty's Military Staff ( sv, H.M. Konungens stab) is the military staff of the Swedish monarch and functions as a unit of the Royal Court. It is led by the chief of staff and supports the King and the Royal Family at official ceremonies, military exercises and representations. The chief of staff also participates in state visits. The staff belongs to the Swedish Armed Forces and is subordinate to the King directly. The chief of staff shall also assist the King with an on duty '' aide-de-camp''. The King and the Crown Princess have twelve ''aides-de-camp'' each and they serve a month a year as on duty ''aides-de-camp''. Their guard list is determined by the chief of staff. Prince Carl Philip has two ''aides-de-camp''. These support the Prince during the year at the times when he has official missions and requests an ''aide-de-camp''. Lieutenant General Casten Abraham ''Carl'' Warberg (2 December 1845 – 16 October 1910) was a Swedish Army officer. His senior commands include commanding officer of the 4th and 6th Army Divisions. Warberg also served as Acting Chief of the General Staff and as Commandant General in Stockholm. He was also the chief of His Majesty's Military Staff. Lieutenant General Curt Ove Leonard Sjöö (born 16 March 1937) is a retired Swedish Army officer. Sjöö's senior commands include Chief of the Army Staff (1988–1990) and military commander of the Upper Norrland Military District (1990–1992) and of the Northern Military District (1993–1996). General Karl Hilmer Lennart Ljung (13 March 1921 – 19 November 1990) was a Swedish Army officer who served as Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 1978 to 1986. General Stig Gustaf Eugén Synnergren (25 February 1915 – 29 April 2004) was a Swedish Army officer who was the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 1970 to 1978. Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973.
