Henrietta Township, Michigan
Henrietta Township is a civil township of Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,705 at the 2010 census. History Jean Baptiste Berard (also spelled Boreaux by descendants) claimed to have settled here in 1816 and had established a trading post in 1831. Nearby Batteese Lake and Batteese Creek were named after him, as his name was also commonly written as "Battise" by other early settlers. The township was organized in 1837 with the name "West Portage". In 1839, Henry Hurd had the town renamed "Henrietta", after his home town of Henrietta, New York. A post office named "Portage" opened on May 21, 1838, with John Davidson as the first postmaster. The name changed to "West Portage" on December 14, 1838, and then to "Henrietta" on May 13, 1840. The post office was discontinued on December 14, 1903. Henrietta Township is a township in Hubbard County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,582 at the 2000 census. Henrietta Township was named for Henrietta Martin, the wife of an early settler. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (9.69%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,582 people, 607 households, and 472 families residing in the township. The population density was 49.9 people per square mile (19.3/km2). There were 913 housing units at an average density of 28.8/sq mi (11.1/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 97.85% White, 1.14% Native American, 0.51% Asian, and 0.51% from two or more races. LaMoure County, North Dakota
LaMoure County is a county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,093. Its county seat is LaMoure. History The Dakota Territory legislature created the county on January 4, 1873, with Grand Rapids as the county seat. However, the county organization was not completed at that time, nor was the county attached to another county for administrative and judicial purposes. It was named for Judson LaMoure, a member of the territorial/state legislature from 1872 to 1918. The county organization was effected on October 27, 1881. Its boundaries were altered in February 1881 and in March 1883. It has retained its present boundary since that time. The present county seat, LaMoure, was founded in 1882, and the county seat was transferred to that community soon after.
