HØJ Elite (men's Handball)
HØJ Elite Men is a men's handball club based in Ølstykke and Jyllinge, Denmark. As of the 2023–24 season, the team competes men's Danish 1st Division. In the 2021–22 season, the team played in the promotion play-offs for the Danish Men's Handball League. However, they lost the final matches against TTH Holstebro. The elite team is part of the association 'HØJ Håndbold', which was founded on 7 January 1995 by a merger of Ølstykke Handball Association and Jyllinge-Gundsømagle Idrætsforening's Handball Department. In the spring of 2014, the elite department was established as 'HØJ Elite'. In the 2024-25 season, they were promoted to the Herrehåndboldligaen, winning 44 of 48 available points in the 1st Division. The women's team was also promoted the very same season. Danish 1st Division (Handball)
1st Division is the name of the second highest handball league for both genders. The top-ranking teams each wins Promotion and relegation, promotion to Danish Women's Handball League, Damehåndboldligaen and Danish Handball League, while the bottom finishers get Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Danish 2nd Divisions. The men's division consists of 14 teams that meet each opponent once away and once at home, while the women's division consists of 12 teams. Team Sydhavsøerne is a handball club from Lolland, Denmark. They play their matches at Maribo-Hallerne in Maribo. They play in the 1st Division, the second tier of Danish Handball. History The team was founded in May 2003 by Rødby Håndboldklub. The team started in the 2nd Division, the third tier of Danish handball. Three years later ''Håndboldklubben Maribo/Hunseby'' joined the club, and became the co-owner with 50% of the stakes. Emil Mellegård
Emil Mellegård (born 6 November 1997) is a Swedish professional handballer for HØJ Elite in the Danish 1st division, the second tier of Danish handball. He has also played for the Swedish national team. Career Mellegård began his senior career with Redbergslids IK, the twenty-times winners of the Handbollsligan, however during his time there they won no silverware. The best achievement of Mellegård's career was being selected for, and winning, the 2022 European Men's Handball Championship with Sweden, a tournament where he featured in eight matches. Skanderborg AGF Håndbold, previously ''Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold'', is a men's Team handball, handball club based in Skanderborg in Jutland, Denmark.
