Hot Rhythm
''Hot Rhythm'' is a 1944 American musical comedy film directed by William Beaudine and starring Robert Lowery, Dona Drake, and the radio and vaudeville team of Tim and Irene ( Tim Ryan and Irene Ryan). Plot J. P. O'Hara owns the Beacon Recording Company, with studio and distribution facilities. His biggest attraction is singer-bandleader Tommy Taylor, who is managed by "Honest Herman" Strohbach. Two staff members, Jimmy and Sammy, are aspiring songwriters who make their living writing radio jingles. They meet singer Mary Adams, and Jimmy is so taken with her that he resolves to advance her career by any means possible. He records Mary singing along to an instrumental played by Taylor's orchestra, hoping to interest O'Hara in Mary. When Mary's demonstration record is released to the public accidentally, Taylor's manager threatens to sue O'Hara. William Beaudine
William Washington Beaudine (January 15, 1892 – March 18, 1970) was an American film director. He was one of Hollywood's most prolific directors, turning out a remarkable 179 feature-length films in a wide variety of genres. He is best known today for his silent films ''Little Annie Rooney (1925 film), Little Annie Rooney'' and ''Sparrows (1926 film), Sparrows'', both with Mary Pickford; the W. C. Fields comedy ''The Old Fashioned Way (1934 film), The Old Fashioned Way''; several Bela Lugosi and Charlie Chan thrillers; ''Mom and Dad (1945 film), Mom and Dad'', a sex-education exploitation film; and the popular The Bowery Boys, Bowery Boys comedies. Charlie Chan is a fictional Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu police detective created by author Earl Derr Biggers for a series of mystery novels. Biggers loosely based Chan on Hawaiian detective Chang Apana. The benevolent and heroic Chan was conceived as an alternative to Yellow Peril stereotypes and villains like Fu Manchu. Many stories feature Chan traveling the world beyond Hawaii as he investigates mysteries and solves crimes. Chan first appeared in Biggers' novels and then was featured in a number of media. Paul Porcasi
Paul Porcasi (1 January 1879 – 8 August 1946) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 140 films from 1917 to 1945. Biography Porcasi sang with the Metropolitan Opera. One of his early non-operatic productions was ''The Country Boy''. He ended his theatrical career with the role of Nick Verdis in '' Broadway'', which ran for 603 performances (16 September 1926 – 11 February 1928) at the Broadhurst Theatre. He reprised the role of Nick the Greek in Universal's 1929 film adaptation of the play. Porcasi's other Broadway credits included ''Oh Mama'' (1925), ''The Texas Nightingale'' (1922), ''The National Anthem'' (1922), ''Jimmie'' (1920), ''Little Simplicity'' (1918), ''Blind Youth'' (1917), and ''Follow Me'' (1916).
