Hope In Hell
''Hope in Hell'' is the fifteenth studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Anvil. It was released in 2013 on May 24 in Germany, May 27 in the rest of Europe, and May 28 in North America. The album was produced by Bob Marlette, who, according to frontman Steve "Lips" Kudlow, contributed a lot to songwriting and arrangements with his skills. All songwriting credits went to Lips and Robb Reiner alone. In some songs, Lips was inspired by his love of "heavy rock 'n' roll", which made him feel he "found his way home" to the time when they did their first record, ''Hard 'n' Heavy''. It is the only Anvil album to feature bassist Sal Italiano. Release and reception The album sold just under 800 copies in the first week of its release in the United States. It has received mostly lukewarm reception from fans. An anvil is a metalworking tool consisting of a large block of metal (usually forged or cast steel), with a flattened top surface, upon which another object is struck (or "worked"). Anvils are massive because the higher their inertia, the more efficiently they cause the energy of striking tools to be transferred to the work piece. In most cases the anvil is used as a forging tool. Before the advent of modern welding technology, it was the primary tool of metal workers. The great majority of modern anvils are made of cast steel that has been heat treated by either flame or electric induction. Inexpensive anvils have been made of cast iron and low-quality steel, but are considered unsuitable for serious use, as they deform and lack rebound when struck. NRG Recording Studios is a recording facility located in North Hollywood, California, that was created by producer and mixer Jay Baumgardner in 1992. History Before starting NRG Recording Studio, Jay Baumgardner, operated from a home based studio and grow out the space. In 1995, the studio space formerly named Weddington Productions became available for rent, so Baumgardner initially rented the space, but he was able to purchase the building later. The building was located in the area of NoHo Arts District that was not yet developed like it is today.
