Hop (film)
''Hop'' is a 2011 American live-action animated Easter fantasy comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment, and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was directed by Tim Hill and produced by Chris Meledandri and Michele Imperato Stabile, from a screenplay written by Brian Lynch and the writing team of Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, the latter two of whom also conceived the film's story. It stars James Marsden, Kaley Cuoco, Gary Cole, Elizabeth Perkins, David Hasselhoff, and Chelsea Handler, with Russell Brand, Hank Azaria, and Hugh Laurie in voice roles. The film follows a young rabbit who would rather drum in a band than succeed his father as the Easter Bunny, and befriends a human slacker seeking a job. Timothy Joseph Hill is an American director, screenwriter, producer, and voice actor. Career Hill began his career in the 1990s as a writer for the show ''Rocko's Modern Life'' with Stephen Hillenburg and Derek Drymon, and was also a writer and producer on the shows '' Exit 57'', '' KaBlam!'' and '' Kenny the Shark''. Hill developed ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' with Drymon and art director Nick Jennings, and wrote the pilot episode as well as writing or co-writing four episodes for the first season. He also created the ''KaBlam!'' skit ''Action League Now!!''. I Want Candy
"I Want Candy" is a song written and originally recorded by the Strangeloves in 1965 that reached No. 11 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. It is a famous example of a song that uses the Bo Diddley beat. Original version "I Want Candy" was written by Bert Berns, Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein and Richard Gottehrer in 1965. Some reports suggest that the song was written after the producers saw dancer Candy Johnson performing at the 1964 World's Fair. As writers/producers, Feldman, Goldstein and Gottehrer had already scored big hits for other artists, including " My Boyfriend's Back" by the Angels. For this song, the trio took on the moniker of the Strangeloves, and recorded the tune themselves, augmented by studio musicians (co-writer Berns was not involved in the studio recording). Peter Cottontail (song)
"Here Comes Peter Cottontail" is a popular secular Easter song composed in 1949 by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins. They also wrote "Frosty the Snowman" in 1950. Mervin Shiner was the first person to record the song, on Decca Records in 1950. It reached #8 on Billboard Hot 100. The name " Peter Cottontail" was used by a character in a 1914 Thornton Burgess book, but may not have been previously used to refer to the Easter Bunny. Due to the immense popularity of Gene Autry's Christmas songs "Here Comes Santa Claus" and " Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", Nelson and Rollins asked Autry to record their song. His 1950 version was on the Columbia label and peaked at number 3 on the U.S ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart and at number 5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit—sometimes dressed with clothes—bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide, similar to the "naughty or nice" list made by Santa Claus. As part of the legend, the creature carries colored eggs in its basket, as well as candy, and sometimes toys, to the homes of children.
