Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards
The Hong Kong Top Footballers Awards (), established by the Hong Kong Football Association in 1978, recognizes the top performers for each season's Hong Kong Premier League. The prizes are decided according to the votes from mass media and the general public. The Best Eleven Squad are voted by the public, Premier League coaches and managers and staff from different mass media. The votes from public counts 30% and the remaining 70% are from the professionals. Some other newer prizes include Best Youth Player, Best Foreign Player and Best Coach Award. In 2004, the Most Popular Player Award was established and in the same year, named sponsorship was used. There were some special prizes given out during the history, which includes the Silver Jubilee Footballer Award for Wu Kwok Hung in 2003 and Hong Kong Broadcasting 75th Anniversary Honour Award for Yiu Cheuk Yin, Tam Kong Pak and Ko Po Keung in 2004. The Hong Kong Football Association
The Football Association of Hong Kong, China Limited (HKFA; ) is the governing body of association football in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China. Its current chairman is Eric Fok. History The HKFA was established in 1914. It is one of the oldest football federations in Asia and is responsible for organising various football competitions including professional and amateur leagues, football development and promoting football in Hong Kong. In 1954, HKFA joined FIFA, and was also one of twelve founding associations of the Asian Football Confederation. Hong Kong played an important role in the early development of Asian football, and was given the honour of hosting the first Asian Cup competition in 1956, in which Hong Kong finished third in the tournament. Fernando Augusto Azevedo Pedreira (; born 14 November 1986), commonly known as Fernando, is a professional footballer who plays as a left winger or a left back. Born in Brazil, he plays for the Hong Kong national team. Club career In June 2015, Fernando joined Kitchee. He was named Hong Kong's Footballer of the Year award for 2017. On 1 July 2020, Eastern announced the signing of Fernando. He left the club on 9 July 2022. On 25 July 2022, Fernando returned to Kitchee. Seiko Sports Association () were one of the most popular and successful football teams in the history of football in Hong Kong. The team withdrew from the Hong Kong First Division League after the 1985–86 season. History Seiko was a team sponsored and named by the agents of Seiko Corporation who entered the team into the Hong Kong Third Division in 1970. They finished runners up in the Third Division (B) League with a record of 26 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from 28 matches and won promotion into the Second Division in the following season. Traditional Chinese characters are a standard set of Chinese character forms used to write Chinese languages. In Taiwan, the set of traditional characters is regulated by the Ministry of Education and standardized in the '' Standard Form of National Characters''.
