Karla Leanne Homolka (born May 4, 1970), also known as Karla Leanne Teale, Leanne Teale and Leanne Bordelais, is a Canadian serial killer who acted as an accomplice to her husband, Paul Bernardo, taking active part in the rapes and murders of at least three minors in Ontarioincluding her own sister, Tammy Homolkabetween 1990 and 1992. Homolka attracted worldwide media attention when a controversial plea bargain with Ontario prosecutors meant she was only convicted of manslaughter, and served only twelve years for the torture, rapes and murders of the other victims, Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French. Homolka testified against Bernardo, who was convicted of the Mahaffy–French murders and received life imprisonment and a dangerous offender designation. Tammy Lyn Homolka (January 1, 1975 – December 24, 1990) was a 15-year-old Canadian girl and the first murder victim of Paul Bernardo and her older sister, Karla Homolka, eight days before what would have been Tammy's 16th birthday. Her official cause of death was listed as choking to death on her own vomit and was initially ruled an accident. After Karla revealed to her aunt and uncle that Bernardo was the Scarborough Rapist, as well as her involvement in the murders of Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, the Niagara Regional Police Service reopened its investigation into Tammy's death and the couple were subsequently arrested. Oscar Homolka
Oskar Homolka (12 August 1898 – 27 January 1978) was an Austrian film and theatre actor, who went on to work in Germany, Britain and the United States. Both his voice and his appearance fitted him for roles as communist spies or Soviet officials, for which he was in regular demand. By the age of 30, he had appeared in more than 400 plays; his film career covered at least 100 films and TV shows. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in '' I Remember Mama'' (1948). Walter Homolka
Walter Homolka (born 21 May 1964, Landau an der Isar) is a German rabbi. A convert to Judaism, Homolka studied in Munich, London, Lampeter and Leipzig and has a PhD from King's College London. He is an adjunct full professor at the University of Potsdam and rector at its Abraham Geiger College, which was founded in 1999. On 14 September 2006, Homolka ordained the first three rabbis in Germany since the Holocaust at the New Synagogue of Dresden. Homolka is chairman of the Leo Baeck Foundation and an executive board member of the World Union for Progressive Judaism. In 2007, he established the Jewish Institute of Cantorial Arts, of which he is the president. A member of the French Legion of Honour, he is widely published internationally and holds a variety of distinctions.
