Hey, Hey, It's The Monkees
''Hey, Hey, It's the Monkees'' is a one-hour comedy special broadcast on the ABC Network on Monday February 17, 1997. The program features all four of the original Monkees and was the last time Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork appeared together in a new television show. The program was written and directed by Mike Nesmith. This special is not to be confused with the similarly titled documentary from 1997, ''Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees''. Overview Based on the conceit that the group had never stopped filming episodes of their television series (despite having no place to air them since the series was cancelled), the special shows the now-middle-aged Monkees trying to come up with a new plot (apparently they have all been done by now) while still trying to catch their big break. Micky Dolenz
George Michael Dolenz Jr. ( ; born March 8, 1945) is an American musician and actor. He was the drummer and one of two primary vocalists for the pop rock band the Monkees (1966–1970, and reunions until 2021), and a co-star of the TV series ''The Monkees (TV series), The Monkees'' (1966–1968). Dolenz is the last surviving member of the band. David Thomas Jones (30 December 1945 – 29 February 2012) was an English actor, singer, and songwriter. Michael Nesmith
Robert Michael Nesmith (December 30, 1942 – December 10, 2021) was an American musician, songwriter, and actor. He was best known as a member of the Monkees and co-star of their The Monkees (TV series), TV series of the same name (1966–1968). His songwriting credits with the Monkees include "Mary, Mary (song), Mary, Mary", "The Girl I Knew Somewhere", "Tapioca Tundra", "Circle Sky" and "Listen to the Band (song), Listen to the Band". Additionally, his song "Different Drum" became a hit for the Stone Poneys featuring Linda Ronstadt. Peter Tork
Peter Halsten Thorkelson (February 13, 1942 – February 21, 2019), better known by his stage name Peter Tork, was an American musician and actor. He was best known as the bass guitarist and keyboardist of the Monkees and co-star of the NBC The Monkees (TV series), television series of the same name (1966–68). Tork grew up in Connecticut, and in the mid-1960s as part of the Greenwich Village folk scene in New York City, he befriended musician Stephen Stills. After moving to Los Angeles with Stills, he auditioned for a new musical television sitcom, ''The Monkees''. The series ran from 1966 to 1968 and made Tork and his co-stars teen idols. Jim Mathers
James Mathers (born May 5, 1955) is an American cinematographer and former child actor. He is the younger brother of Jerry Mathers, known for his title role in ''Leave It to Beaver''. '' Revolutions per Monkee'' is a television special starring the Monkees that aired on NBC on April 14, 1969. The musical guests included Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, the Clara Ward Singers, the Buddy Miles Express, Paul Arnold and the Moon Express and We Three. The Monkees

''The Monkees'' is an American television musical film, musical sitcom that first aired on NBC for two seasons, from September 12, 1966, to March 25, 1968. The series follows the adventures of four young men (The Monkees) trying to make a name for themselves as a rock 'n roll band. The show introduced a number of innovative new-wave film techniques to series television and won two Emmy Awards in 19th Primetime Emmy Awards, 1967, including Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Comedy Series. Justus (album)
''Justus'' is the eleventh studio album by the Monkees. The album was recorded in celebration of their 30th anniversary and released on October 15, 1996. It features the return of Michael Nesmith to the group. Background ''Justus'' was the first Monkees album since ''Head'' (1968) to feature all four Monkees. It was also the final studio album to feature contemporary recordings of Davy Jones before his death in 2012. Although Nesmith sang lead vocals on a remake of " Circle Sky", he did write the Dolenz-vocal song, "Admiral Mike", and provided background vocals for all tracks. Although preliminary work on the album was begun using songs from various writers, upon Nesmith's agreement to join the production it was agreed that all songs would be written only by the four members of the group. Chuck Woolery
Charles Herbert Woolery (March 16, 1941 – November 23, 2024) was an American television host, actor, and musician. He had long-running tenures hosting several game shows. Woolery was the original host of the original daytime '' Wheel of Fortune'' from 1975 until 1981, when he was replaced by Pat Sajak.
